At my former school, La Salle Abel (a traditional Christian institution), I participated in the “Via Sacra" performance, a significant Easter event, where I played “Verônica”, combining acting and singing as I performed “Canto da Paixão do Senhor” for an audience of nearly 300 people.

I took part in several key moments: the opening act - singing Brazilian classics alongside a friend-, hosting a talk show created by me called “De Frente com Manu”, and performing an original farewell dance with classmates and our Art teacher.

I see songwriting as a way to express my personal feelings and artistic vision. Over the years, I have written songs in both Portuguese and English, often with love as the main topic. Moreover, I also enjoy creating lyrical versions of myself to explore different emotions and stories.

This original play, written by one of the students, was inspired by the movies “Grease” and “Teen Beach Movie”. In this production, I played “Sandy”, a young girl who meets a charming boy during the summer and hopes to continue the relationship when the school year begins.
As the story develops, “Sandy” faces challenges dealing with the differences in their lifestyles. While “Danny” is portrayed as a rebellious biker, “Sandy” is kind, romantic, and thoughtful. Throughout the play,, both characters learn to understand and appreciate others’ differences, ultimately bringing their worlds together and building a strong relationship.
The play was divided into three main acts, each represented by a key song. “Summer Nights” highlights the beginning of Sandy and Danny’s romance, capturing the excitement of their summer relationship. “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’” reflects the differences in their personalities and lifestyles, while “Gotta Be Me” marks the moment they finally come together, showing that people with different backgrounds and perspectives can build a meaningful relationship based on understanding and respect.

At La Salle Abel, my school, a traditional Christian institution, religious celebrations were an important part of the school culture and were held on special occasions. One of these traditions is the Via Sacra, a Christian Easter observance that represents the path Jesus took to his crucifixion. It consists of 14 stations that portray his journey from condemnation to the resurrection.
As part of this tradition, a group of students, guided by religion teachers, recreated the Via Sacra in a theatrical presentation for nearly 300 people. I was invited to play Veronica, a woman who, moved by compassion, steps out of the crowd and wipes Jesus’ face, with his image miraculously remaining on the cloth.
As Veronica, I appeared in the sixth station of the Via Crucis and sang “Canto da Paixão do Senhor.”
This talent show, entirely organized and performed by a group of 11th-grade students, took place in one of the school’s auditoriums for an audience of approximately 200 people, including students, teachers, and other members of the school community.
Preparing for the Talent Show was certainly a demanding process. It took the group nearly a month of planning and countless rehearsals to ensure that every song, performed entirely by students, met our quality standards. However, the final result made every effort worthwhile. Seeing the audience engage with the emotional journey we had created, feeling their excitement in each song, and observing their amazement at the music we were producing was truly unforgettable.
One of the most memorable moments for me personally was performing an original song in public for the very first time. Unlike the covers we presented, this was a love song I had written and composed myself. Sharing such a personal creation on stage was both nerve-wracking and rewarding.

These experiences strengthened my stage performance, communication, teamwork, and event participation skills while allowing me to contribute to a meaningful celebration of our school journey.

Primarily inspired by real-life situations, I always saw writing songs as the best way to share my art and personal feelings with the world. Over the past few years, I have composed several songs in both Portuguese and English, exploring a range of themes, with a particular emphasis on love, the subject that inspires me most. Nevertheless, I also enjoy creating fictional characters for my songs, allowing them to experience their own emotions and unique stories.
